Dr. Pamela J. Homan is a member of the Emily’s Hope Board of Directors. A graduate of Augustana University, she earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education and later completed a specialist degree and doctorate in educational administration from the University of South Dakota.
Dr. Homan spent 25 years with the Sioux Falls School District, including 11 years as superintendent, becoming the first woman to lead the state’s largest district. During her tenure, she expanded schools and launched innovative initiatives such as the Career and Technology Academy, project based learning models, preschool expansion, and language immersion programming.
In 2015, she returned to Augustana University and now serves as chief strategy officer and executive vice president, overseeing strategic initiatives, development, communications and marketing, enterprise data analytics, and the Augustana Research Institute, which she founded. An active civic leader, she serves on the ReliaBank board of directors and as president of the WestSide Lutheran Church council. Her honors include induction into the South Dakota Hall of Fame and the Legends of Delzell Award from the University of South Dakota.
