ST. PAUL, Minn. – A fourth person has been sentenced in connection with Minnesota’s largest fentanyl seizure, a case that involved hiding potentially deadly pills inside stuffed animals. Fo’Tre White has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in the drug trafficking operation, according to CBS News.
As Emily’s Hope previously reported, multiple people were accused of traveling to Phoenix to obtain fentanyl pills, concealing them in stuffed animals, and mailing the packages to addresses in and around the Twin Cities. CBS News reports that the packages were lined with dog treats to prevent detection from drug-sniffing dogs.

The joint investigation, led by law enforcement in Dakota, Ramsey and Washington counties, resulted in the seizure of six packages containing more than 30,000 grams of fentanyl pills—an estimated street value of over $2.2 million.
White is the fourth defendant to be sentenced in the case. Five others have pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing.
According to the Minnesota Department of Health, fentanyl was involved in more than 90% of opioid-related deaths and more than 60% of all overdose deaths in the state in 2022.
