Michigan recalls vape cartridges after new testing

LANSING, Mich. – A variety of Bloom vape flavors have been voluntarily recalled in Michigan after testing revealed they contain an oil that could be harmful to the lungs. The state’s Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA) says the vapes contain medium chain triglyceride (MCT) oil, a diluting agent that is not allowed in inhalable cannabis products in the state.

The recall comes just weeks after Platinum Vape-branded cartridges were also pulled from the market for containing MCT oil. That recall was the first of its kind in Michigan since the state implemented a testing requirement for MCT oil in October.

“From a public health and safety standpoint, the potential for adverse effects with MCT oil underscores the importance of safety guidelines for product development,” said CRA Executive Director Brian Hanna. “Michigan’s licensed marijuana businesses must prioritize respiratory safety when formulating or using inhalable products, opting for ingredients that have been thoroughly evaluated for their compatibility with lung health.”

Blue Dream

Cereal Milk

Champagne Kush

Durban Gelato

Face Off OG
