South Dakota, headquarters of Emily’s Hope, one of the top states searching for addiction help

As the United States faces its deadliest drug epidemic in history, it’s crucial for those struggling with substance use disorder (SUD) to seek help. New research has revealed the top states where people are actively searching for addiction treatment.

Health experts at NowPatient, an online pharmacy, analyzed Google search trends to identify the states most actively seeking SUD help. West Virginia ranked first, followed by New Mexico and Utah. South Dakota, home to Emily’s Hope, came in tenth.

“Dealing with drug-related problems, addictions, and dependence can be overwhelming, but you are not alone,” said Pharmacist Navin Khosla with NowPatient. Khosla emphasized that recognizing you have a problem is the first step toward recovery, even though it can be difficult.
