SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — A 39-year-old Chancellor, South Dakota man has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for producing child pornography.
Marquis Jordan committed the crimes between June 16 and June 24, 2024. During that time, federal prosecutors said that Jordan supplied a runaway juvenile girl with drugs and alcohol and forced her to perform oral sex on him while he recorded the act on his cellphone.
“This was a fitting sentence for this predator,” said U.S. Attorney Ron Parsons. “I am so proud of the dedicated efforts of our federal prosecutors and the agents at Homeland Security Investigations for bringing him to justice.”
Jordan was also on parole for previous drug and eluding convictions at the time of the offenses.
Federal officials say drugs and sexual exploitation are often connected. The Drug Enforcement Administration says human trafficking is often closely linked to drug trafficking, with criminal organizations using the same trafficking routes and networks to profit from drugs, sex, labor and violence.
“Transporting people (usually women and children) for sex is just another egregious source of profits for these violent criminals,” said DEA Special Agent in Charge Jarod Forget in a blog. “For traffickers, it doesn’t matter which product is being sold — both drugs and sex are lucrative industries – as long as money is made.”
Forget said that violent criminals see no difference between abusing a woman’s body by forcing her to swallow bags of drugs or by forcing her to have sex with hundreds of men.
Jordan was indicted by a federal grand jury in February 2025 and pleaded guilty in June 2026.
After he is released from federal prison, Jordan will be required to register as a sex offender for 25 years.
