
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – The Sioux Falls-based non-profit, Emily’s Hope, is hosting ‘Save A Life Day’, an event emphasizing opioid awareness and community event.
The event includes:
- Free Naloxone handouts: a life-saving medication that can reverse an opioid overdose
- Midwest Street Medicine, offering resources and low-barrier healthcare
- Free food items from Bread Break and food pantry partners
Emily’s Hope was started by local journalist Angela Kennecke after her daughter, Emily, overdosed.
The organization has offered a K-12 substance prevention curriculum used across the country, naloxone distribution at events, a Youth Prevention Coalition in South Dakota, and more.
The event will take place on Thursday, September 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the north side of the Sioux Falls downtown library.
