We have reported drug overdoses in the U.S. fell drastically – 27 percent – from 2023 to 2024. That’s the lowest those rates have been in five years. In part, the CDC credits more funding, approved by Congress, for the improvement. Some of that money is now in jeopardy.
Joining us now to talk about what’s at stake is Angela Kennecke, the founder of Emily’s Hope. Emily’s Hope is non-profit advocating for substance use disorder prevention, awareness, and recovery. Angela created it after losing her daughter Emily to accidental fentanyl poisoning in 2018.
