TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A different sort of vending machine on Washburn’s campus could save a life.
The Kansas State Attorney General’s Office and the national organization “Emily’s Hope” partnered to install the ‘Narcan’ dispenser, providing a tool to prevent opioid-related deaths across colleges.
“All of our patrol officers here at the university are trained and carry it with them,” said Washburn Police Chief Chris Enos. “Our RAs now carry it with them. We have it in the AD’s, and again, rather have it and never need to use it, than not.”
