Two naloxone distribution boxes installed at Sanford in partnership with Emily’s Hope

Emily’s Hope, in partnership with Sanford Health, has opened two new naloxone distribution boxes in Sioux Falls.

The repurposed newspaper boxes make naloxone (commonly referred by its brand name, Narcan) kits widely available to the public, according to the Emily’s Hope website. The kits are free to the public.

The two newest boxes are located in the main lobby and emergency department of Sanford USD Medical Center and mark the organization’s ninth and tenth boxes installed in South Dakota, Emily’s Hope founder and CEO Angela Kennecke said in an interview with the Argus Leader.

“We want everyone to carry these naloxone kits, this is a safety tool,” Kennecke said. “We’d like to see them in every household and every bag.”
