Life-Saving Tools
Emily’s Hope has provided 4,000+ naloxone kits and 10,000+ fentanyl testing strips free of charge.
At Emily’s Hope, we distribute free life-saving tools, including naloxone (NARCAN®) and fentanyl test strips, to help prevent overdoses and save lives in our community.
Naloxone
Emily’s Hope is committed to making life-saving medication accessible and ensuring that people are prepared to act in an overdose emergency. Naloxone (also known as NARCAN®) can rapidly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, and we provide it free of charge to individuals, families, and organizations in our community.

In a bold and necessary step to address South Dakota’s rising overdose death rate, Emily’s Hope has partnered with South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley, the Department of Social Services, and the Department of Health to distribute 20,000 naloxone kits—equaling 40,000 doses—throughout the state.
Distribution Boxes
Emily’s Hope has installed public naloxone distribution boxes in strategic locations throughout South Dakota. In partnership with the State of South Dakota, we will be adding 35 additional boxes over the next year.
These repurposed newspaper boxes are available during business hours and stocked with naloxone kits that anyone can access for free.
By placing naloxone within reach, we are helping reduce barriers to this critical overdose-reversal medication.

Businesses, nonprofits, and faith communities can request free naloxone kits for their locations.

A Life Saved in South Dakota
Recently, a South Dakota man reached out to share how a naloxone kit from one of our distribution sites made a life-or-death difference. He picked up a kit from one of the Tires, Tires, Tires locations in Sioux Falls and gave it to his cousin, who struggles with substance use disorder. Just a short time later, his cousin’s wife found him unconscious. Because she had naloxone on hand, she was able to administer it immediately—saving his life.
This is why we do what we do. Access to naloxone gives people a second chance, a chance to seek treatment, and a chance for families to stay together.
Fentanyl Test Strips
Emily’s Hope provides fentanyl test strips to help individuals detect the presence of fentanyl in substances, empowering them to make safer choices. We distribute these strips free of charge at public events and offer them to businesses and organizations for community distribution. By expanding access to fentanyl test strips, we’re working to reduce overdose risks and save lives in our community.
Distribution Containers
Emily’s Hope provides free fentanyl test strips for businesses and organizations.
Our containers are located at bars, restaurants, gas stations, shelters, museums, college campuses, and other locations.
