Michael Geheren is Emily’s Hope’s Director of Program Operations and the program manager for the Post-Overdose Response Team.
Michael’s journey with Emily’s Hope has been intertwined with its very roots; he was there from the start, forging a connection with our President & CEO, Angela Kennecke, during their time together at KELOLAND Media Group, where he worked as an investigative and 5 p.m. producer.
A Walter Cronkite School of Journalism graduate at Arizona State University, Michael came from a leading web development and design agency, where he continued to hone his craft and push the boundaries of digital innovation working with Fortune 500 companies. He also helped launch NewsNation, a cable news network founded on the principle of unbiased cable news in primetime.
But Michael’s heart has always remained in Sioux Falls, and after several years of living in Chicago, he’s returned to his roots, bringing with him a renewed commitment to the cause that’s close to his heart. Michael’s connection to Emily’s Hope is deeply personal; it’s a mission that resonates with him on multiple levels, shaped by family experiences and knowing Emily personally.
